What is the best time of year to do a termite treatment? I have been asked this many times.
Termites are constantly working and destroying the wooden structure which they have infested. They work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days out of the year. The only time that termites really stop working is either when they have completely consumed all of the cellulose product in their current structure, or when temperatures get below freezing. When the temps dip down below freezing, termites will use their series of tubes and tunnels to go back down into the ground, and below the frost line of the ground. As soon as the temperatures get back above freezing, termites will travel back up their tubes and tunnels, and get right back to work.
The best time to do a termite treatment is now. It doesn’t matter if it is spring, summer, fall, or winter. Termites can invade your home at any time, so its best to get the home treated and protected as soon as possible.
