I have had customers ask me in the past about the effectiveness of the ultrasonic bug repellents that are currently on the market. The best answer that I can give them is that if these products actually worked, then everyone would have these things plugged in all throughout their homes, and I wouldn’t be in business!
These electronic devices can be either ultrasonic, or electromagnetic, and claim to affect the nervous system of rodents, spiders, ants, and other insects. They claim to do so by emitting high frequency sound waves, which are too high in pitch to be heard by humans, but within the range of hearing for the insects and rodents.
There have been countless scientific studies performed on these types of products, which have for the most part shown to have little to no effect on insects.
