There are currently about 1 million species of bugs in this world that have been identified. It is estimated and agreed upon that there are about 5 million species of bugs total, which would mean that about 80% of them have not even been identified yet.
It is also estimated that the ratio of insects to humans is about 200 million to 1, and that there are about 400 million insects per 1 acre of land.
The above numbers are actually on the low end of the estimates that I came across. I chose to remain on the very safe, conservative side of things.
With statistics like these, you can see why we are in the business of pest control, and not pest elimination!
